About the Artist
Born an artist, Lucas James Copplestone's early creative path lead him to explore museums, monuments, architecture and pubs on family trips to his father's hometown in South West London, England. It was during one particular adventure alongside his dad in 2007 that saw him return to his hometown of Sidney, British Columbia, with fresh eyes. Inspired by Warhol, Lichtenstein and other Pop artists, a few months later, he held his first art show called "Rhythmic Vibrations of Sound & Colour". He sold 14 pieces and further orders for custom portraits. Exploring different mediums, an interest in screen printing was invigorated by a trip to a California convention. There he acquired a printing press, capable of exploring a variety of mediums. This created opportunities to work with local businesses and brands to design custom apparel and feature his own artworks. Lucas established many different creative relationships allowing him to collaborate with charities and donate artwork for auction now raising over $30,000. In 2010, radio station 100.3 The Q commissioned him to paint their contribution to Victoria's "Eagles in the City" campaign benefitting the BC Lions Society's Eater Seal Services. The result was a stunning 10ft tall fibreglass rock-and-roll inspired painted eagle called "Radio Dada", that sold at the live auction Eagle Gala.

It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves...
If I never seek adventure then I will never find anything new or different...
You can't make either LIFE or ART, you have to mind the gap in between, which is undefined, that's what makes the adventure of ART such a thrill...
